The Guidebook project was a group project with my 9 other classmates. We were tasked with exploring a place in Ames, IA, capturing its essence and individually creating 16 pages. We broke up into teams, a cover page team, interior spread team, and a purchasing team. We successfully printed 20 books as an artful exploration of Ames, IA.
Having lived in Ames for five years I have explored every corner of the town and I wanted to scout out a more eclectic place. I chose a dive bar in downtown Ames called the Angry Irishman. My goal was to give it a grunge and punk theme. I did this by capturing the individuality of the space and people in photos and then creating some spreads and along with some "90s band" themed posters.
